JOB OVERVIEW
As a Breakfast server you will welcome our guests, recommend food, and drink and help keep service on-track and up to standard. By tailoring each guest experience to their unique tastes, you will create memories as delightful as the dishes.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school degree or equivalent. 1-year tableside service experience Some bar knowledge Ability to stand, bend and lift up to 50 lbs. Availability mornings, weekends, and holidays.
SHIFT STARTS AT 6AM REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to be assigned 5-10 stable station depending on season and volume of hotel Ability to organize tasks by matter of critical nature Control bills and cash policies set in place Ability to communicate in English with guests and hotel personnel to their understanding. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information tone one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the company. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to maintain organization
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Comply with attendance rules and able to work on a regular basis. Serve and create a warm fun atmosphere for guests and employees Wear your uniform with pride. Check dining room and meeting room to see that glassware, silverware, side plates and tables are properly set and stocked for high volume service. Attend pre-shift huddles Present menu, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food, service, ingredients, price and preparations. Suggest a cocktail and appetizer before dinner, attempt to upsell to maximize food and beverage revenues. Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests. Write orders on a check or memorize, repeat order to guest for clarification. Relay order to kitchen using POS and serve courses from kitchen and service bars. Carry trays. Observe guests to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed, Maintain table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter, and providing adequate napkins, etc. Ladle soup, toss salad, portion pies and dessert, brew coffee and perform other services set by establishment. Keep stations clean, sanitized and set up. Keep on top of supplies and equipment and minimize waste. Tell your supervisor or Duty Manager about any unsafe equipment, low supplies, and safety incidents. Help create a safe space by following safety procedures and wearing necessary protective equipment. Meet or excess local cleanliness and hygiene laws. Maintain cleanliness of the dining and bar areas by wiping down tables, chairs, counters, walls, bases and windows, vacuuming and sweeping floors, mopping floors, sanitizing menus, clearing dirty dishes, removing spills and ensuring the overall tidiness of the restaurant, often while actively serving customers.
