Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Server Assistant (also known as Back Waiter or Food Runner) to support our service team in delivering seamless, world-class fine dining service. This role is ideal for someone with prior table service experience who is eager to learn the standards of true fine dining, develop advanced service skills, and grow within a luxury restaurant environment. As a Server Assistant, you will work closely with servers, runners, and management to ensure every guest receives attentive, polished service. This position offers excellent hands-on training and a clear pathway for advancement into server or lead roles for high-performing team members. Key Responsibilities Set and reset tables to Marble Room's exacting fine-dining standards, including proper placement of silverware, glassware, linens, and seasonal accents. Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to tables with precision, timing, and proper presentation (including announcing dishes when appropriate). Clear tables efficiently between courses while maintaining a quiet, graceful presence in the dining room. Refill water, bread, and other accompaniments proactively and discreetly. Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service stations, and side work areas. Polish silverware, glassware, and china to the highest standards. Assist servers with guest requests and provide additional support during peak service periods. Support opening and closing side work, including stocking supplies and preparing the room for service. Uphold Marble Room's standards of professionalism, teamwork, and genuine hospitality at all times. Qualifications & Requirements Prior experience in table service (server, host, or busser) in a restaurant environment is strongly preferred. Genuine passion for learning and growing in a fine-dining setting. Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with luxury hospitality standards. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs as needed. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work legally in the United States.
