Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Server/Cashier to join our team. As a Server/Cashier at The Howlin Bird, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. This is a fast-paced role that requires strong multitasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide them with menus
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Enter orders into the POS system (TOAST POS)
- Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any questions or concerns
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a timely manner
- Clear tables and clean dining area as needed
- Assist with bussing tables and resetting them for the next guests
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate order preparation and delivery
- Upsell menu items and promote specials to increase sales
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred but not required
- Strong cash handling skills
- Familiarity with operating a cash register or POS system (Aloha POS)
- Basic math skills for retail transactions
- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
