Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and personable Dining Room Server to join our team in providing exceptional service to residents. A background in food service, with experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar healthcare environments is helpful but not required. As a Dining Room Server, you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals with professionalism and compassion, ensuring a positive dining experience for all residents. EOE Duties Serve meals to residents in accordance with their dietary needs and preferences, adhering to all safety and sanitation standards. Assist with meal setup, table clearing, and maintaining cleanliness of the dining area to promote a welcoming environment. Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times, including cleaning and bussing tables. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal service and food preparation activities. Support dietary staff by assisting with food production and basic meal assembly when needed. Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices for heavy items. Engage with residents courteously, providing excellent customer service that respects their dignity and preferences. Skills Previous experience in food service within assisted living, nursing home, or healthcare settings is preferred but not required Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures helpful Ability to manage time effectively during busy meal periods while maintaining attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on working with geriatric patients and understanding their unique needs. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and assisting with food production or meal preparation tasks. Basic math skills for handling serving portions, meal counts, and dietary documentation. Experience with dietary requirements adherence, nutrition principles, and working within a dietary or culinary team is advantageous.
