Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE
Take orders, serve food and drinks, answer inquiries about menu and attend to the needs of the guest to optimize their dining experience
PRIMARY DUTIES
Answer questions about food and drinks including daily specials, ingredients, preparation and accompanying items. Attend daily pre shift meetings. Greet newly seated guests in a friendly manner within 30 seconds of being seated. Take drink order at guest greeting, deliver beverages & offer appetizers. Take entire order and repeat order to guests for clarification. Up-sell menu items, such as appetizers, entrees, beverages and desserts. Ring up orders on POS. quickly and in proper sequence using appropriate abbreviations and charges. Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing & handling intoxication of guests. Maintain table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter and providing extra napkins if necessary. Total bill and present check upon removal of last plate or upon request. Accept payment and provide change or credit card voucher within 1-3 minutes of guests' payment. Follow appropriate accounting procedures for closing checks and vouchers. Keep station clean, sets up and take down station appropriately adhering to company sanitation procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to operate POS computer, make change correctly and make credit card transaction accurately. Must be able to calmly respond to angry guests and notify a manager. Must be able to read and write notes to hearing impaired guests & verbalize menu items clearly to guests. Must be able to balance money at end of each shift. Must be able to effectively card all guests who appear under the age of 30 for alcohol purchases. Must be able to effectively ask for member identification.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in Hideout approved uniform at all times. Must be able to deliver plated food and clear tables which may require lifting up to 30lbs. Stands and walks, reaches, bends, stoops & wipes during entire 6-8-hour shift.
HAZARDS OF JOB
Cuts from broken glass and/or metal cans. Burns. Slipping and tripping. Repetitive motion from frequent bending & stooping. Moderately heavy lifting.

From $7.25 per hour
