G Hospitality is seeking a on-call banquet server who sets up, serves, and breaks down catered events, handling tasks like setting tables, serving food/drinks, clearing dishes, and cleaning the venue, all while providing excellent customer service, adhering to sanitation rules, and working as part of a team for large events like weddings or corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities Setup & Preparation:
Set tables with linens, place settings, and decorations; prepare beverage stations (coffee, tea) and buffets. The ability to read a banquet event order document (BEO) where all event information can be found.
Service:
Greet guests, take food/drink orders (if applicable), serve plated meals or buffet items, refill beverages, and provide menu/specialty information.
Guest Interaction:
Address special requests and dietary needs, answer questions, and ensure guest satisfaction with a friendly, attentive attitude.
Breakdown & Cleanup:
Clear tables, remove used dishes and linens, clean event spaces, vacuum, and return equipment to storage.
Teamwork & Compliance:
Communicate with Banquet Manager, kitchen/bar staff, adhere to food safety/sanitation guidelines, and follow a strict uniform/grooming standard.
Skills & Requirements Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand/walk for long periods and the ability to lift trays weighing 30 lbs. & 40 lbs. consisting of multiple plates and glasses.
Customer Service:
Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor. Acting as the "Table Ambassador" for your guests.
Efficiency:
Prompt and organized service.
Team Player:
Working together to maximize efficiency across departments.
Flexibility:
Available for varied event schedules (nights, weekends).
