Job Summary Hearts Family Restaurant is looking for a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Cashier/Server to join our team. The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately entering orders, handling payments, answering phones, and helping keep the front-of-house area clean and organized. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant, enjoys interacting with customers, and can remain calm and professional during busy periods. Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner. Accurately enter dine-in, takeout, and phone orders into the POS system. Operate the POS system efficiently and accurately. Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment. Count cash and provide correct change. Answer the restaurant phone professionally and take phone orders accurately. Confirm customer orders to help prevent mistakes. Communicate clearly with cooks, servers, and other team members. Inform customers about daily and weekly specials. Recommend drinks, desserts, appetizers, or other menu items when appropriate. Help customers with menu questions and special requests. Package and organize takeout orders accurately. Ensure customers receive the correct food, condiments, utensils, and other requested items. Maintain a clean and organized cashier counter and front-of-house area. Restock cups, lids, to-go containers, bags, condiments, and other supplies. Assist with dining room cleanliness when needed. Follow proper cash-handling and restaurant procedures. Follow all food-safety and sanitation requirements. Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned. Help support other team members during busy periods. Maintain a positive and professional attitude with customers and coworkers. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
