Full-time Position Summary:

As a Food Runner in a fine dining environment, your primary role is to ensure the timely, accurate, and elegant delivery of dishes from the kitchen to the dining room. Working closely with the front-of-house team and kitchen staff, you will help maintain the flow of service, uphold presentation standards, and contribute to an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities:
Dish Delivery:

Transport plated dishes from the kitchen to the appropriate tables swiftly and safely, ensuring each dish is served at the correct temperature and with the appropriate accompaniments.

Presentation Standards:

Double-check plate presentation before delivery to ensure alignment with fine dining aesthetics and standards. Communicate dish names and ingredients confidently when requested.

Support Service Flow:

Assist Front Waiters and Captains by clearing courses, resetting tables between services, and maintaining a clean and organized service station.

Communication Liaison:

Act as a key link between kitchen and dining room, relaying important information such as dish modifications, delays, or special instructions.

Guest Awareness:

Be attentive to guest needs and support the service team in anticipating requests, refilling water, and maintaining overall guest satisfaction.

Cleanliness & Safety:

Maintain a clean and organized expo area, follow food safety handling procedures, and ensure walkways and service stations are clutter-free.

Qualifications:

 Previous experience as a food runner or in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred; fine dining experience is a strong advantage.  Excellent communication and coordination skills.  Attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.  Professional appearance and demeanor.  Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team.  Basic food and allergen knowledge is helpful; willingness to learn is essential.

Work Environment:

 Physically demanding role: frequent walking, carrying trays, and standing for long periods.  Must be able to lift up to [15-20 kg / 30-40 lbs].  Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required as per restaurant schedule.
