Previous upscale or full-service serving experience preferred Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Dining Room Server to join our team. Our ideal candidate understands that exceptional service goes beyond taking orders and delivering food. It is about creating a memorable experience, anticipating guest needs, building genuine connections, and maintaining a polished and professional presence throughout every interaction. This position is ideal for a server who thrives in an upscale-casual environment, takes pride in their craft, and understands how attention to detail can turn a great meal into an exceptional dining experience. Responsibilities Provide warm, attentive, and professional service to every guest. Guide guests through the menu and confidently explain ingredients, preparation methods, and menu features. Maintain strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits, and other beverage offerings. Make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences. Use suggestive selling and menu knowledge to enhance the guest experience rather than simply increase the check. Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders. Properly course meals and communicate with the kitchen and bar to maintain an appropriate pace of service. Monitor tables throughout the dining experience and anticipate guest needs before being asked. Perform quality checks and address concerns quickly and professionally. Maintain proper table maintenance, including clearing, resetting, marking, and preparing tables between courses. Work closely with server assistants, bartenders, hosts, kitchen staff, and management to provide seamless service. Handle guest payments and POS transactions accurately. Complete opening, running, and closing side work. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked service areas. Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and restaurant policies. Maintain professional appearance and conduct throughout every shift. Assist teammates whenever needed and contribute to a positive, team-oriented dining room culture. What We're Looking For The strongest candidates will have: Previous serving experience in an upscale-casual, polished-casual, or fine-dining restaurant. Strong food, wine, cocktail, and spirits knowledge or a genuine desire to continue developing that knowledge. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence speaking with guests and making recommendations. Strong sales ability without creating a high-pressure experience. An understanding of proper steps of service and meal coursing. The ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining attention to detail. A professional, polished appearance and demeanor. Strong situational awareness and the ability to anticipate guest needs. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. A team-first attitude and willingness to assist outside of their immediate section. The ability to remain composed and professional during high-volume service. Physical & Scheduling Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to carry trays, plates, glassware, and other restaurant items safely. Ability to lift approximately 25-40 pounds when necessary. Must be available for a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must meet all applicable requirements for food handling and alcohol service. What Success Looks Like A successful server does more than complete the steps of service. They own the guest experience . They notice when a guest needs another cocktail before the glass is empty. They recognize when a table wants conversation and when guests prefer privacy. They understand pacing, communicate with the kitchen, support their teammates, and take personal responsibility for everything happening within their section.
