Role:
Position Summary:
The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing excellent service to guests, taking and delivering food and drink orders, and ensuring a positive dining experience. This role involves maintaining knowledge of the menu, managing customer requests, and working closely with the kitchen and other staff members to ensure efficient and high-quality service.Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Service o Greet guests promptly and courteously, presenting menus and providing information about the restaurant's offerings. o Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen and bar staff. o Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely manner, ensuring correct order delivery. 2. Order Management o Monitor and manage tables, checking on guests periodically to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or additional requests. o Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and any other guest needs with attention and professionalism. o Ensure that all food and drink items are served at the correct temperature and presentation. 3. Table Maintenance o Set up and clear tables efficiently, ensuring that tables are properly reset between guests. o Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area, including tables, utensils, and condiments. o Refill water glasses, coffee cups, and other beverages as needed. 4. Payment Handling o Present checks to guests, process payments, and handle cash or credit transactions accurately. o Provide change and receipts, ensuring correct billing and resolving any discrepancies. 5. Communication and Teamwork o Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders. o Collaborate with other team members to support service during peak periods and special events. 6. Health and Safety Compliance o Follow proper sanitation and hygiene practices to ensure a clean and safe dining environment. o Adhere to health and safety regulations, including food handling and storage guidelines. 7. Upselling and Promotions o Promote and upsell menu items, including specials, desserts, and beverages, to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. o Stay informed about the restaurant's menu, specials, and promotions to effectively recommend items to guests.Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service and menu items.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays or food items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for handling utensils and serving dishes.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a restaurant environment with exposure to noise, heat, and high-traffic areas.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
