This position is responsible for taking customer orders, packing takeout orders accurately, assisting customers, maintaining a clean front counter and dining area, and supporting the restaurant team during busy periods. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Order Taking Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Take customer orders accurately in person and/or through the restaurant POS system. Answer basic questions about menu items, ingredients, and available options. Confirm special requests and order details with customers. Communicate customer requests clearly to the kitchen. Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment accurately. Provide customers with receipts and correct change when applicable. Takeout & Order Packing Check completed orders against tickets before handing them to customers or delivery drivers. Pack food neatly and securely for takeout and delivery. Make sure all required items are included, such as utensils, napkins, sauces, and condiments. Clearly identify orders and organize them for customer pickup and delivery drivers. Double-check special instructions, modifications, and missing items. Maintain an organized takeout/pickup area during busy periods. Cleaning & Restaurant Maintenance Keep the front counter, pickup area, tables, chairs, and customer areas clean and organized. Clean and sanitize work surfaces regularly. Sweep and mop floors as needed. Empty trash and replace trash bags. Clean containers, utensils, and other front-of-house items as required. Restock takeout containers, bags, napkins, utensils, sauces, and other supplies. Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the shift. Teamwork Work closely with kitchen staff and other front-of-house employees. Help the team during busy periods, including packing orders and organizing pickup orders. Communicate problems or customer concerns to the manager. Follow restaurant procedures for food safety, cleanliness, and customer service. Perform other reasonable restaurant duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous restaurant or customer-service experience is preferred but not required. Reliable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team. Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Good attention to detail, especially when checking and packing orders. Able to stand and walk for extended periods. Able to lift and carry restaurant supplies and food orders as needed. Basic English communication skills are preferred. Chinese language ability is a plus. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, organized, and comfortable working quickly during busy restaurant hours. Accuracy is especially important because this position handles customer orders and takeout packing. Work Environment This is a fast-paced Chinese restaurant environment.
