Job Description

We are The Good Society, the 2020 GABF Small Brewpub of the Year. This position is at our taproom on Upper Queen Anne and for Saturday evenings with the possibility for a few additional hours for coverage as needed. Please do not apply if you do not have that availability. Our culture is governed by the simple concept that together is better. Become a valued part of a caring team committed to making the world a better place through craft beer and community. Because we believe together is better, all servers are trained for all workstations including bar tending, running (food and beverages), and preparing light snacks.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesGreet guests with a positive welcoming attitude and guide them with helpful information and suggestionsResponsibly pour and serve alcoholic beverages while complying with all state and local requirements for alcohol and food servicePrepare and serve light snacks (soft pretzels, snack mix, etc.)Assist other co-workers with timely delivery of food and beveragesOther day-to-day operational activities of the taproom including:

Clean and organized service areas including walkways, tables, kitchen area, bar area, and restroomsInventory, ordering, and stocking of taproom itemsDraft line cleaningMonitor service areas to ensure guests have everything they needCommunicate clearly with guests and team membersAccurately prepare final bill and process paymentsPerform opening and closing tasksQualifications/RequirementsOver 21 years with a passion for hospitality and quality craft beerAble to quickly establish a friendly and helpful rapport with co-workers and guestsDisplay a natural aptitude for selling in a food and beverage environmentFlexible and able to adapt to changing work and scheduling conditionsAble to calmly organize and prioritize multiple tasks under time pressureSelf-motivationRepresent the brewery with the utmost integrityHave computing and cash handling skills to accurately process orders and paymentsHave King County food handler and Washington MAST Class 12 permits within 2 weeks of hireBonus PointsFamiliarity with Toast POSExperience working in a brewery taproom or brewpubKnowledge of craft beerCertified Cicerone (any level)Physical RequirementsStand and walk for extended periods of time, 4-5 hours continuously and up to a total of 11 hours a shift (if working a double)Reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 80-165 pounds with assistance (moving and changing kegs)Routine pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, climbing, bendingAbility to work in hot and cold environmentsWork in a busy, fast-paced, and time sensitive environment
