Job Summary Join our vibrant team as a Host, Food Runner, and Server, where you'll be the welcoming face of our restaurant, ensuring guests have an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. In this dynamic role, you will manage guest seating, deliver food and beverages efficiently, and provide outstanding customer service that keeps guests coming back. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage wait-list or reservations using restaurant POS system such as Toast Tables Escort guests to their tables, ensuring comfort and satisfaction from the moment they walk in. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system Toast, up-selling menu items including cocktails, wines, and spirits to enhance guest experience. Deliver food runners' orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to tables while maintaining food safety standards. Serve beverages including alcohol, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks with professionalism and attentiveness to guest preferences. Clear tables efficiently by bussing and resetting for new guests while maintaining sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations. Process sales transactions accurately, handle cash or credit card payments, and balance registers at shift end. Assist with basic food handling and preparation tasks as needed in collaboration with kitchen staff. Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions about menu items, recommending specials or up-selling opportunities to maximize sales. Maintain a lively atmosphere by engaging with guests and ensuring their needs are met throughout their visit. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or restaurant roles such as host/hostess, server, or food runner preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential. Familiarity with the POS system Toast is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine, and basic math for processing transactions accurately. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and handle guest concerns professionally. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking between seating guests, serving orders, and processing payments. Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices required for safe food handling and serving. Experience with fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings is a plus; culinary experience is beneficial for understanding menu offerings. Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance sales opportunities. Basic math skills for cash handling and sales processing; strong communication skills are essential for guest interactions.
