Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as OpenTable, and relay orders promptly to kitchen staff. Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness. Upsell menu items including specialty cocktails, wines, spirits, and desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales. Process cash transactions and credit card payments accurately. Maintain knowledge of menu offerings including food safety standards, wine pairings, cocktail recipes, and food preparation details. Clear tables promptly after guests finish their meals, bussing as needed to keep the dining area tidy. Support sanitation protocols by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation standards throughout service. Assist with guest relations by addressing questions or concerns professionally and courteously. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient restaurant operations during busy nights or special events like weekend evenings or private parties. Skills Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, particularly in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or bars. Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for order processing and sales transactions. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and handle diverse needs effectively. Demonstrated ability in upselling beverages like wines, spirits, cocktails, and other menu items to maximize sales opportunities. Solid understanding of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures. Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during high-volume service periods while maintaining attention to detail. Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities. Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits experience, cocktail preparation techniques, and beverage service best practices. Experience with reservation systems such as OpenTable is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and special event nights in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
