Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Candlewood Suites Alabaster is looking for a full-time Maintenance Engineer to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, dependable and detail oriented. We are looking for a skilled individual to perform a variety of duties related to the smooth upkeep and maintenance of our property. You will be responsible for inspecting and repairing various energy systems, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. Responsibilities Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on urgency Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, replacing air filters, etc. Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues Install appliances and equipment (refrigerators, microwaves, PTACs) Program televisions Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation) Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm) Provide excellent customer service to hotel guests and coworkers Skills Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems Experience using hand and electrical tools Ability to read technical manuals and drawings Very good communication and interpersonal skills High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work independently AND part of a team
