Job Description

Job Overview Our dynamic Hospitality Team strives to create a pleasurable dining experience for all guests and prides itself on exceptional food quality and outstanding customer service. Under the direction of the Hotel Chef de Cuisine and Hotel Sous Chef the Hotel Steward is primarily responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, glassware, kitchen materials/tools, and disposing of garbage and trash, cleaning the kitchen, equipment, refrigerators, the service pantry, work areas, and ensuring continuously supply of clean dishes, utensils and kitchen materials/tools. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for washing, sanitizing and organizing all dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen materials and tools using manual and machine methods. Must follow health and safety standards to prevent cross-contamination and illness. Responsible for keeping the dishwashing area clean and organized. Maintain clean and dry floors throughout the shift. Ensures continuous supply of clean dishes, utensils, glassware and kitchen tools. May assist with basic food preparation tasks. Manage dishwashing supplies and inventory. Maintain all culinary work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Empty and disposing of trash including emptying of trash cans, disposing of delivery boxes, and cleaning trash bins/cans including the dumpster area before the end of every shift. Ensure that the kitchen complies with cleanliness and appearance standards while on duty. Understand chemical usage and appropriate food handling practices. Sterilize worktables, walls, and refrigerators with approved cleaners and equipment. Receive and load/unload deliveries. Take inventory, place orders, and receive orders on each shift, as needed. Assist team members with other tasks. Follow up on projects in a timely manner and complies with departmental policies and standards. Report any equipment malfunctions and maintain the station in a neat and orderly manner. Communicate any problems or concerns to their immediate supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. Education/Experience/Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, preferred. • Minimum one (1) to three (3) years' experience in cleaning, preferably in a hotel. Knowledgeable in the proper and safety operation of dishwashers, equipment, and cleaning supplies. Must be able to communicate effectively, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and read safety instructions. Ability to prioritize job duties, organize and manage time effectively. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations Must provide unexpired, Right To Work documents such as a valid social security card, a U.S. birth certificate, U.S. citizen ID Card, a resident citizen ID card, a U.S. passport, or employment authorization documents issued by the Department of Homeland Security. Must hold or obtain within 90 days of employment and maintain throughout employment a Food Handler's Card. • The pay range reflects the hourly rate the employer reasonably expects to offer for this position based on current operational needs and candidate qualifications. While the maximum rate for this role may reach up to $25.20, that figure is not typical for new hires and would apply only in exceptional cases involving significantly advanced experience or specialized skills.
