We specialize in personalized care, trusted relationships, home-cooked meals, meaningful activities, and a flexible daily schedule that honors each resident as an individual. We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and proactive House Manager to help lead the daily rhythm of our home. This role combines hands-on direct care, staff support, household coordination, resident engagement, communication, and operational follow-through. What You'll Do The House Manager helps ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centered care in a safe, organized, and welcoming home.
Responsibilities include:
Support residents' daily routines, preferences, dignity, independence, and quality of life. Assist with Home Health Aide/direct care responsibilities as needed, including activities of daily living, meals, routines, activities, and household needs. Serve as a point of contact for staff questions, daily coordination, and operational guidance. Help reinforce staff expectations, routines, documentation, communication standards, and household systems. Provide input on staff performance and team needs, while final decisions regarding hiring, discipline, and termination remain with company leadership. Manage household operations, including groceries, meals, laundry, cleaning systems, supplies, kitchen organization, and resident belongings. Monitor inventory, communicate supply needs, and help maintain a clean, calm, organized home. Help plan and support meaningful activities, resident outings, appointments, and individualized engagement. Support accurate documentation, confidentiality, safety protocols, and company policies. Lead by example and contribute to a positive, respectful, accountable team culture. Schedule & Phone Support This is a full-time position, generally 32-40 hours per week, with core working hours typically Monday-Friday during daytime business hours. Some flexibility is required based on resident appointments, activities, staffing needs, household operations, and urgent facility needs. The House Manager participates in a scheduled every-other-weekend phone support rotation for urgent operational questions, staffing concerns, household needs, and time-sensitive facility issues. Phone support does not include clinical decision-making. Clinical concerns, resident changes in condition, medication concerns, resident safety concerns, or other high-risk care concerns are escalated to the RN/Director of Nursing or designated nursing leader according to company policy. The House Manager also participates in a scheduled in-person backup rotation to support planned and unexpected coverage needs, including vacation coverage, staff absences, and urgent operational situations requiring onsite support. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services background study, including fingerprinting, as required. Willingness and ability to perform Home Health Aide/direct care responsibilities as needed. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and follow-through. Proficient in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, staff, and leadership. Ability to work respectfully with older adults, families, coworkers, and leadership. Ability to follow care plans, policies, documentation expectations, and safety protocols. Comfortable using and learning workplace technology systems, including electronic documentation, scheduling tools, communication platforms, email, and company-specific digital workflows. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment during urgent or stressful situations. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to/from the home, appointments, errands, and meetings as needed. Preferred Qualifications Home Health Aide, assisted living, residential care, group home, adult foster care, memory care, or similar direct care experience. Experience as a lead caregiver, shift lead, house manager, supervisor, or similar leadership role. Experience with electronic health records, electronic documentation systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, email, or similar workplace technology. Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to safely perform direct care and household responsibilities in a residential assisted living environment, including the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds, assist residents with mobility and activities of daily living, stand/walk/bend/reach/kneel, go up and down stairs, complete household tasks, and respond calmly and safely to urgent situations, with or without reasonable accommodation. About the Work Environment This position is performed in a small residential assisted living home. The House Manager works closely with residents, families, direct care staff, and leadership. Because this is a small home, the House Manager may shift between responsibilities throughout the day, including direct care, staff support, activities, appointments, household tasks, communication, and urgent problem-solving.
