Job Description

Houseman - Hotel Housekeeping Position Summary A Houseman is responsible for cleaning and maintaining designated areas of the hotel and assisting the housekeeping team in delivering outstanding guest service. This role supports room attendants, maintains cleanliness throughout the property, and ensures hotel standards are consistently met. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist Room Attendants with trash removal, linen delivery, and other housekeeping tasks as needed Clean and maintain public areas, offices, banquet/meeting rooms, hallways, and other designated spaces Perform cleaning duties including: Dusting and polishing furniture Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors Shampooing carpets Washing windows Cleaning and waxing floors Removing and disposing of trash Stock and maintain housekeeping supply rooms and carts Respond to guest requests in a friendly and professional manner Report maintenance issues and items in need of repair to management Understand and complete both "light touch" and "full clean" room services Restock and replace room and bathroom amenities Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the property Maintain a professional appearance including uniform, employee identification, safety footwear, and protective equipment Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Friendly and professional customer service skills Reliable, efficient, and dependable work ethic Knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and equipment preferred Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays as needed Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding position.
Candidates must be able to:
Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, pull, and stoop for extended periods of time Lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds Reach overhead and below the knees Perform repetitive motions throughout the work shift Safely operate and carry cleaning equipment and supplies Maintaining visual and hearing ability is necessary to perform job duties effectively Work Environment Fast-paced hotel environment Schedule may vary based on hotel occupancy and business needs Requires working indoors with cleaning chemicals and equipment Benefits
