  • Full-time Human Resources Manager SeaBear Smokehouse, a leader in artisan, small-batch seafood production, is seeking a people-focused and highly organized Human Resources Manager to support and strengthen the team behind our exceptional products.

This full-time, onsite position is based at our headquarters and smokehouse in beautiful Anacortes, Washington. The Human Resources Manager will work a Monday-Friday schedule and serve as a key member of the leadership team, partnering closely with department heads and reporting directly to our President/CEO. Major Duties and Responsibilities General HR Work closely with the President & CEO to build and implement a people strategy tailored to the changing needs of our business Understand the company's strategy and goals and translate those goals into useful HR objectives that support the business strategy Create and administer human resources programs, policies and procedures Monitor compliance and ensure company policies, procedures and reporting comply with applicable labor, federal and state laws, regulations and recommended best practices Design and develop critical HR metrics, sharing with the management team and assessing how trends impact the organization Represent the mission, vision and values of SeaBear and create HR programs that support organizational culture Key partner on annual processes such as budget planning, talent assessment & development and compensation review Provide HR assistance, support and advice to internal stakeholders on various HR related issues and needs that arise. This includes collaborating with leaders and legal counsel on employee relations issues including investigating, mentoring, advising and reporting when necessary Directs leadership in the oversight of employee and/or labor relations activities by ensuring team members provide specialized consultation on employee relations Analyze and review research and provide recommendations and assistance on employment related regulations both at the State and Federal level Employee Experience Develop company newsletter and ensure regular distribution Create and introduce recognition programs, events and other initiatives to increase employee happiness and engagement Lead organization of company-wide projects or events that foster team culture Recruiting Develops and monitors the recruitment process to ensure effectiveness Ensures job descriptions are updated and compliant with SQF and state/federal regulations Lead the company hiring efforts including recruitment strategy and execution Employee Relations Represent our team's talent interests within the organization and support leaders in the identification of talent risks Provide guidance to leaders regarding talent solutions, priorities, results and accountability Advise employees and management regarding employee relations issues; proactively research and advise on employee relations concerns Partner and may serve as back up to Payroll Administrator to ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll. Assist in the administration of health and welfare, retirement, and leave benefit programs. Lead the Company's training and development programs Qualifications 6+ years' experience in HR subject areas Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, psychology or related field preferred OR appropriate combination of education and experience to support effectiveness SHRM-CP or

is preferred HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment Must have working knowledge of Human Resources business standards, practices, policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to, Benefits, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, Workers' Compensation and 401(k) plans. HR Generalist level. Best-in-class business acumen and professionalism Strong natural leadership skills Proven ability to build credible relationships with cross-functional partners Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to facilitate meetings and training sessions Proven sensitivity to confidential materials/issues Proven track record of accurate and timely work product Comfortable deal with ambiguity and responding to changing business conditions and needs
Compensation/Benefits Compensation:
$75k
  • $85k, DOE Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k match, after 60 days Unlimited PTO; paid sick leave, paid personal days
