Job Description

Overview Logan Steel seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist who will manage various HR functions to ensure compliant operations within our organization, as well as prioritize safety and training.
Key Responsibilities Recruitment:
Handle job postings, screen and recommend candidates, schedule interviews, and prepare job offer letters. Actively participate in job fairs to attract top talent.
Onboarding/Training:
Complete new hire packets and maintain accurate records. Ensure new employees are set up with time clocks and coordinate comprehensive safety training. Manage I-9 compliance and emphasize a culture of safety from day one.
Performance Appraisal:
Schedule and conduct performance reviews, document outcomes, and provide insightful recommendations to management.
Workforce Engagement/Management:
Develop clear job descriptions and open lines of communication. Assist with disciplinary actions and support career growth opportunities. Seek grant opportunities for employee training and development programs.
Payroll Management:
Accurately track work hours, manage payroll processes, and oversee vacation, sick days, and deductions.
Employee Benefits:
Administer retirement plans, manage insurance enrollments, and oversee benefits renewals and COBRA compliance.
Safety & Wellbeing:
Collaborate on safety improvements and ensure strict OSHA compliance. Mediate employee disputes with a focus on maintaining a safe and positive workplace.
Compliance Management:
Maintain the Employee Handbook, ensure legal compliance, and manage risk through meticulous recordkeeping.
Workers Compensation:
File and manage workers' compensation claims and document workplace injuries with a focus on prevention and safety improvement.
Employee Exit Strategies & Succession Planning:
Manage retirements and terminations, and conduct exit interviews to gather valuable feedback.
Miscellaneous Office Work:
Perform general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, document preparation, and maintaining office supplies. Assist with supporting other departments as needed to ensure smooth office operations. Qualifications Experience in HR management with a strong emphasis on safety and training. Strong communication skills and knowledge of employment laws are preferred. Proficiency in office administration, organization, and multitasking is highly valued.
