Job Description

S&L Industries provides pavement markings, traffic control, guard rails, and bridge resurfacing services on roads and parking lots throughout Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. We take pride in the quality of our work, prioritize the safety of our employees, and operate with integrity as a team. With recent growth to over 180 employees, we are seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist to support and strengthen our HR functions. The Human Resource Generalist will play a key role in managing day-to-day HR operations, including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives. Located at our Cowley, WY office, with travel (25%) to other offices within the region. This position works closely with leadership and collaborates with our corporate office in Omaha, NE. Key Responsibilities Maintain and develop job descriptions and job postings across all departments Review applications, coordinate, and participate in interviews with leadership Lead onboarding processes, including paperwork, drug screenings, DOT physicals, and background checks in compliance with applicable laws Support EEO and Affirmative Action reporting requirements, as applicable Communicate and enforce company drug and alcohol policies in accordance with federal and state regulations Maintain and conduct annual audits of driver qualification files to ensure DOT compliance Coordinate benefit enrollment and ensure completion by all eligible employees Serve as a primary contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits Assist in developing and maintaining training programs focused on safety and professional growth Support EHS efforts, including injury reporting and coordination with insurance carriers Coordinate company events such as annual kick-off meetings and employee appreciation events Provide guidance to management on company policies, regulatory compliance, and employment laws Lead employee retention initiatives and support positive employee relations Contribute quarterly articles for the corporate newsletter Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience required Previous experience with DOT driver requirements preferred Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO regulations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Work Environment & Requirements This position may require handling confidential information and maintaining strict confidentiality Must be able to work in an office environment and occasionally support field operations Ability to travel 25% and up Compensation & Benefits Compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications S&L Industries offers a competitive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, vision, retirement plan options, and paid time off, in accordance with company policy and applicable law Equal Employment Opportunity Statement S&L Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
