Hourly-Twelve Months Salary Structure:
Non-Rep/Non-Certified Position Summary:
This position is responsible to work collaboratively with the Human Resources Director to assist with all aspects of the Human Resources functions including, but not limited to: recruitment, hiring, retention, staffing, compensation, legal compliance, employee licensing, Human Resources Information System management, and employee relations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred Two to four years prior Human Resources experience preferred Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification preferred Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite Excellent interpersonal skills along with strong written/oral communication skills Experience working with DPI Educational Licensing preferred Experience working in Educational Information Systems (i.e. Infinite Campus, Skyward, etc,) preferred Ability to work in a fast paced environment, prioritize and meet deadlines Attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy Ability to respond to sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and empathy A belief in serving and supporting others in a manner that aligns with the district's core values
Essential Job Duties:
Commits to the District's Mission and Vision Assists the director in all aspects of operating the human resources office Provides consistent, timely and above average customer service to all levels of staff and other applicable stakeholders Serves as backup to the Human Resources Administrative Assistant Prepares the biweekly personnel report for Board of Education meetings Assists in coordinating interview processes Is responsible for hiring, conducting reference and background checks, and onboarding new substitutes. This includes any applicable required training and assisting subs in obtaining the necessary licensure through DPI. Assigns all mandatory training programs Is responsible for all new hire onboarding procedures Assists with licensure to ensure compliance to the regulations including ensuring staff are properly licensed for their role / assignment in the District. Keeps accurate records of all employment assignments, FTE's, salaries, mentors, resignations/retirements, overload contracts and other personnel related information. Processes professional staff lane movement requests Processes program approval and course approval requests from professional staff Assists the HR Director in activities related to the annual staffing process. Is responsible for the set up and maintenance of the Educator Effectiveness system Prepares and submits the annual WISEstaff report Verifies placement of student teachers and notices colleges of placement in cooperation with the director and principal Maintains agreements between MPSD and universities with student teacher placements Assists with the applicable HR related information and legal notices for the Back to Basics document Coordinates with the Summer School office in regards to onboarding of summer school staff. Prepares all documents and coordinates activities for new teacher week. Maintains mentor roster, applicable stipends and communications Prepares and distributes contracts, notices of reasonable assurance, and annual letters to specific staff groups per state statute Responsible for the day to day administration of FMLA Coordinates and tracks the use of personal days for the professional/teacher staff Responsible for updating the applicable employee handbooks when revisions are made Maintains the district's standards relative to the confidentiality of information about students, employees, and all job applicants Attends professional development, seminars, and trainings as approved Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned

The noise level in the work environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day. The demands of extended work days (coverage of building activities and extracurricular activities, etc.) requires a high level of physical endurance. This job requires the ability to handle and balance multiple demands at the same time. Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff and the general public. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect/analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
