We are seeking a hands-on, energetic and strategic Human Resources Manager to manage all aspects of human resources for our Bedford Park, Illinois production facility. You will partner closely with operations leadership and management to drive all aspects of human resources management, including hiring, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and culture in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your leadership will drive workforce engagement, support change management initiatives, and ensure our HR practices align with our company's goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape our company culture while managing a diverse range of human resources functions. Key Responsibilities Hiring Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles, including recruiting / hiring, onboarding, and training Partner with staffing agencies to ensure consistent workforce coverage, negotiate and manage agency relationships Support hiring managers with structured interview processes and decision making Own onboarding for new hires, ensuring strong first-day and first-week experiences Employee Relations & Performance Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on coaching, feedback, and performance management Lead employee relations investigations and ensure consistent, compliant resolution of issues Support disciplinary processes with fairness, clarity, and documentation Maintain a visible, approachable presence in the production facility HR Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including wage/hour and I-9 requirements Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems (our HR system is Paylocity) Partner with benefits providers to manage administration and open enrollment Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures Culture, Engagement & Retention Foster a positive, inclusive, and high accountability culture across the facility Monitor employee engagement and proactively address trends Lead team communications, events, and recognition efforts Support our Chicago-based business team, when needed. Required Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish) 5+ years of HR experience, including food manufacturing or similar environment Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices in a production setting Experience supporting high-volume, hourly workforces Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) Experience with HR systems (Paylocity a plus) What We Value Strong judgment and integrity Clear, direct communication across all levels Willingness to be hands-on and present where the work is happening Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
