Job Description
Position Overview We are a growing construction company seeking a Human Resources / Office Manager to oversee daily office operations, payroll, HR functions, and compliance. This role is critical in ensuring accurate payroll processing, certified payroll reporting, and adherence to state and federal labor regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in construction-related HR and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Management Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel records Handle employee relations, disciplinary actions, and HR documentation Maintain and enforce company policies and procedures Payroll & Compensation Process weekly payroll using QuickBooks Online Ensure proper deductions, garnishments, and benefits administration Coordinate with accounting/bookkeeping as needed Certified Payroll & Compliance Prepare and submit certified payroll through DIR and/or LCP Tracker Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and labor requirements MaintainDAS 140 & DAS 142
forms and project compliance records Stay current with California labor laws and Cal/OSHA regulations Office Administration Oversee daily office operations and administrative functions Manage job postings (Indeed, Craigslist, etc.) and hiring coordination Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical) Safety & Training Coordination Assist with safety documentation, training records, and compliance tracking Coordinate required trainings (e.g., harassment prevention, safety meetings) Qualifications Previous HR or office management experience (construction industry preferred) Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage projects strongly preferred Proficiency in QuickBooks (payroll experience required) Strong knowledge of California labor laws and compliance requirements Highly organized with strong attention to detail Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Benefits Competitive pay (DOE) Health insurance 401(k) Paid vacation and holidaysPay:
