Project Manager (Landscape Construction) $100K+ Annual Salary
POSITION SUMMARY
Join our growing team at Pacific Outdoor Living, based in San Luis Obispo, CA, as an experienced Project Manager. In this role, you will oversee and build large-scale residential landscape construction projects, including site development projects from inception through completion. The ideal candidate has a wide range of field experience and the ability to manage crews, subcontractors, materials, schedules, and client expectations. PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Conduct accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for landscape construction projects. Review and approve construction plans to ensure they are complete, feasible, and code-compliant. Lead project approval submissions and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines. Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth project execution. Manage construction teams, labor crews, and subcontractors to ensure projects stay on schedule, on budget, and meet quality standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing clear communication and resolving issues as they arise. Oversee labor allocation, equipment dispatch, and resource utilization across job sites. Monitor and report daily and weekly project progress, ensuring work aligns with project specifications. Manage labor forces and subcontractors to ensure labor budgets remain on track. Maintain accurate Foreman and Superintendent activity logs and update production tracking reports.
CAPABILITIES / KEY COMPETENCIES
In-depth knowledge of landscape construction techniques and materials, including masonry, pools, hardscape, softscape, and woodwork. Ability to review and communicate construction details and drawings that clearly explain how projects will be built. Familiarity with local and national building codes and compliance requirements. Strong project management and scheduling skills. Excellent communication and coordination skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong background in construction management and project coordination. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Knowledge of landscape, masonry, pavers, and demolition work is a plus. Bilingual Spanish required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 5-10
years of experience in construction, preferably in landscape construction or site development. Experience with estimating construction build projects. Proven ability to manage crews, subcontractors, and construction schedules.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods when visiting job sites or meeting with clients Ability to communicate clearly by phone and in person as required for the role. Ability to drive to multiple job sites within the service area Successful applicants for this role will be required to participate in pre-employment aptitude assessments. These assessments are used to help identify their potential ability to perform the job duties associated with the role.
