Overview We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Specialist based in Hesperia to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive HR initiatives, support employee engagement, and ensure compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture and possess comprehensive HR expertise to manage talent acquisition, employee relations, and HRIS systems effectively. Role purpose Under the supervision of the HR Manager, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and compliance, as well as the administrative functions of the department.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of Human Resources experience within a customer-facing environment is essential Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Previous administration experience is desired Working knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems UltiPro (UKG) knowledge helpful Demonstrated basic knowledge of FMLA/LOA, Benefits, and Recruiting Must have demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and on own initiative Able to organize and complete routine tasks to set standards Be able to carry out any other necessary duties as agreed with the Management Team. Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a labor union environment preferred

Key Accountabilities:
HR Administration Administer complete employee lifecycle in HRIS system from hire through termination Respond to all HR-related questions from employees either in office, via email or over the phone Assists with employee benefit programs consistent with corporate guidelines and informs employees of benefits Maintain personnel, benefits, grievance and additional files to the Keolis file standards Interfaces with Payroll on some payroll adjustments Review onboarding documents to ensure completion and compliance Respond to audits timely and accurately Employee Engagement Assist with internal communications tools to enable process improvement related to increasing engagement and building an inclusive, supportive workplace Assist with events and projects associated with organizational culture development Coordinate employee appreciation activities Leave of Absence Assist administration of company leave of absence policies, FMLA, LOA, including disability accommodation under ADA/ADAA and other statutory leave entitlements. Other Duties/Projects as assigned Create process documentation and work instructions for all tasks performed Assist other managers with approved special assignments as needed Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
