Full Job Description Title:
People Officer Reports to: Chief People Officer Company Overview WOT is a full service business provider located in the heart of Central Florida. WOT's world-class delivery model ensures that customers' needs are met through a systems-thinking approach in order to maximize results and optimize potential. Position Summary The People Officer is critical to the WOT strategic goal to be an employer of choice. The position is responsible for managing the recruitment process, creating professional development and training materials, overseeing instructional certification compliance, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws. Key Responsibilities
  • Post open positions, collect resumes, and set interview appointments.
  • Conduct phone screens for candidates prior to the hiring manager's interviews.
  • Notify applicants/candidates of application status.
  • Research, schedule, and prepare for recruitment fairs.
  • Assists with employee recruitment and orientation materials.
  • Assists with adding new hires into the Payroll system.
  • Build community relationships and partnerships.
  • Coordinate employee background checks, drug screens, and reference checks.
  • Assists with onboarding process and new hire orientation.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to
Chief People Officer:
compose and type letters, memoranda, and other correspondence related to assigned human resources programs and activities; prepare a variety of reports including technical reports and status reports pertaining to human resources management programs and activities.
  • Conduct routine audits of human resources files and documents.
  • Assists with maintaining employee records and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date on local, state, and federal employment laws and policies.
  • Assists Chief People Officer with coordination and monitoring staff professional development trainings and projects.
  • Assists Chief People Officer with conducting employee termination process, exit interviews, and grievance hearings.
  • Assists Chief People Officer with creation of training materials and projects.
  • Gather and analyze data, prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations on employee recruitments and retention data.
  • Other duties as assigned General Duties
  • Support WOT by attending community service and outreach activities throughout the year
  • Assist Chief People Officer with stakeholder, customer, and business partner meetings and projects
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
  • Provide clerical assistance to Chief People Officer when needed
  • Work and complete task needed for all virtual needs
  • Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Requirements
  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • Prior experience in Human Resources/Office Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Background check and fingerprinting clearance
  • Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Knowledge of employment policies, regulations, and laws
  • Knowledge of applicable computer software and hardware process applications such as spreadsheets, word-processing, database and operating systems, and/or presentation software
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
  • Able to provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
  • Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation, valid automobile insurance Key Competencies

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skill Working Conditions Environment Requires working indoors or remotely in an environmentally controlled office setting.
Requires sitting for the majority of the day. This is a 12 month exempt position. This position may require travel. Physical Requirements Generally, the job requires 40% sitting, 20% walking and 40% standing. Hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to read, prepare, and proofread documents; sitting for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting light objects. The ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing no more than 50 pounds.
