Main Responsibilities Conducts regular walk-throughs to visually assess the physical structure(s) of the building. These assessments evaluate safety, maintenance efficiency, and the operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and related systems and equipment. Assigns and verifies the completion of all routine maintenance for public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, outlets, back-of-house areas, and grounds. Oversees repairs, replacements, and renovation projects for offices and employee work areas. Hires, trains, supervises, and disciplines all staff under the Engineering Department. Adheres to all corporate purchasing policies and controls, including managing contractor bids, budgets, and project schedules. Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs. Provides training to other departments on the safe and efficient use of property equipment and energy resources. Regularly informs the General Manager and department leaders of the overall condition of the building, systems, and equipment. Provides practical, cost-effective recommendations for maintenance and improvements. Ensures building information is properly computerized and reports are generated as needed. Maintains an appropriate inventory of materials and equipment required for daily operations and maintenance activities. Ensures organized and efficient administrative and filing systems within the Engineering Department for accurate and timely handling of correspondence, reports, purchase requisitions, and other documentation. Oversees a well-organized shop system for inventory control, maintenance, and storage of all tools, materials, and equipment required for departmental operations. Remains available to respond immediately to property emergencies requiring the expertise of the Chief Engineer, including but not limited to fires, power or other equipment failures, floods, lighting, earthquake, or other disasters of similar nature and magnitude. Performs other duties as assigned, including coordinating and supervising special guest requests (e.g., room or meeting space modifications), assisting with special event setups, constructing props, and supporting employee relations events. What are we looking for? To fulfill this role optimally, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience: High school graduate or equivalent experience. 3-5+ Years of engineering experience in hotels or related industry. 3-5+ Years of managerial in the same or similar environment. EPA- OSHA 10-30
