Compensation:
$60,000 to $67,000 annually, depending on experience (mostly remote, must live in Colorado)
The High-Level Overview:
This entry-level, full-time position involves supporting the Sr. Employee Benefits Manager & Benefits Consultant while overseeing most aspects of the employee benefits renewal process. Key responsibilities include setting up and maintaining benefits in Employee Navigator, creating benefits guides, preparing and reviewing compliance documents, and ensuring adherence to ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and HIPAA regulations. The role also coordinates renewal processes, troubleshoots and resolves data, billing, and claims issues, and escalates complex matters when necessary. Required to have current, valid Colorado Life and Health licensure before hire (no restrictions and in good standing with the Colorado Division of Insurance). Condition of employment.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management Support Sr. Employee Benefits Account Managers and client relationships, including responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and advocating for clients. Benefits Administration & Systems Set up and administer employee benefits for clients and help maintain accurate records in Employee Navigator. Compliance & Regulatory Management Prepare, review, and distribute compliance documents & benefit guides (Wrap Documents, SPDs, broker compensation disclosures) and ensure ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and HIPAA compliance. Renewal & Process Management Coordinate and manage renewal processes, including tracking deadlines, preparing renewal packets, and communicating with carriers. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution Identify and resolve data discrepancies, billing errors, and claims issues; escalate complex matters as needed. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience :
Required to have current, valid Colorado Life and Health licensure before hire (no restrictions and in good standing with the Colorado Division of Insurance). Condition of employment. 1+ years of experience in employee benefits, insurance brokerage, or client service. See above for experience in customer service, proposal development, or account management in an employee group benefit setting or similar benefits or experience. Experience with benefits administration or HRIS platforms (e.g., Employee Navigator) and carrier portals is preferred. Exposure to group health, dental, vision, life, and ancillary insurance products. Basic experience in preparing compliance documentation and supporting renewal processes is beneficial and desired. Specialized Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with document management systems and willingness to learn additional platforms and programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for correspondence with clients, carriers, and vendors. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills for managing enrollments, renewals, billing, and compliance documentation. Basic analytical skills for identifying and resolving data discrepancies, billing errors, and claims issues. Resourcefulness and initiative in researching solutions and following up to ensure resolution. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges. Comfortable working independently in a virtual office and proactive in seeking help when needed.
