Job Description

The Benefits Leave Administrator is responsible for the administration and management of employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, short- and long-term disability, workers' compensation, and other related leaves. The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws while delivering exceptional employee support. In addition, the Benefits Leave Administrator collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to manage all aspects of leave benefits and accommodations. The position is responsible for documenting and communicating any necessary actions to the appropriate party(s) and updating HR, talent relations and management, as necessary. The position follows all established procedures to provide a high level of customer service to all inquiries. The position handles sensitive or complex processes, and works closely with subject matter experts, as appropriate. The position also concentrates a portion of their time on the continued improvement of leave of absence processes, utilizing and leveraging automation and technology. The role is expected to leverage existing systems and analytics in improving processes and maintains responsibility for leading complex projects and processes in support of change in their area. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Business, Other related field, Human Resources Required or Four years of related experience in lieu of bachelor's degree Required Minimum Work Experience 2 years Experience working in human resources or insurance/benefits related area of human resources. Required Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Skill in computer programs and applications, such as Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, HRIS and Payroll systems processing software. Knowledge of related laws, regulations, FMLA, and other federal and state regulations relating to benefit administration a plus. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures. Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality. Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel including physicians, managers, and other staff. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Administers all leave of absence programs including
FMLA, ADA
accommodations, personal leaves, military leave, and short/long-term disability. Interprets FMLA, STD, LTD, workers compensation, and ADAAA plans, programs, policies and procedures for employees and provides advice and recommendations for remediation of escalated issues and plan/process improvements. Conducts billing reconciliation and processes, tracks, and invoices benefit premium payments to all employees on a continuous leave of absence. Acts as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave processes, status updates, and return-to-work coordination. Acts as a liaison between employees and third-party administrators. Completes human resources related transactions utilizing various systems: HRIS, Employee Relations case management system, and vendor systems as required. Produces necessary analytic reports. Maintains accurate leave tracking systems, documentation, and reporting for audits and regulatory requirements. Provides training and resources to managers and employees on leave-related topics and procedures. Analyzes leave trends and recommends process improvements and proactive solutions. Partners with HR Business Partners, Legal, Risk Management, and external vendors to facilitate leave case management and ADA interactive processes. Proactively provides suggestions for continued use and improvement of self-service modules, process improvements, and HR information. Supports open enrollment, benefits communications, and other special projects as assigned. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local leave laws, regulations, and company policies.
