Job Description
JOB DUTIES
- Processes benefit enrollments, changes, qualifying life events, and terminations.
- Creates and distributes COBRA, DEFRA/TEFRA and benefit continuation materials for active and retiree benefits.
- Maintains accurate information in HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems; audits deductions and premiums.
- Reconciles carrier invoices, analyzes reports, researches discrepancies, and coordinates resolutions with vendors, payroll, and finance.
- Responds timely and professionally to benefit inquiries.
- Assists with new hire orientation, open enrollment, meetings, materials, system testing, and individualized mailings.
- Supports benefit plan changes, process improvements, and other HR projects.
- Manages completion of deadlines independently, keeps stakeholders informed, and provides reliable, accurate, and timely support.
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated ability to administer the full benefits processing lifecycle.
- High school diploma and a minimum of four years of administrative or general office experience that includes two years of specialized experience in benefits or payroll. A bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration is preferred and may be substituted for up to two years of the required specialized experience.
- Foundational knowledge of human resources principles, benefits administration practices, and applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining timely and professional service.
- Exceptional attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to work onsite and travel to other facilities, as necessary, to support meetings and departmental operations.
