47 - $38.81 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data.   • Summary:
  • The Benefit Specialist administers comprehensive employee benefit programs for employees to care for their health and well-being, plan for financial security, enhance their individual growth and maintain a work/life balance.
He/She processes benefit enrollments, qualifying life events and assists with open enrollment. They provide guidance for the Leave of Absence benefits. They ensure compliance with regulations while maintaining accurate records in the HRIS system. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field.
  • 2 years of progressive related work experience in Benefits, human resources or related field.
  • Experience in benefits administration.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interact with and influence a wide range of internal and external constituencies.
  • Excellent independent judgment and the ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Process daily benefit transactions including new enrollments, life-event changes, evidence of insurability, and terminations in HRIS system.
  • Verify employee dependent documentation.
  • Maintain accurate enrollment, dependent and beneficiary records in HRIS system.
  • Distribute Affordable Care Act (ACA) required employee eligibility notifications.
  • Assist in the processing of the Education Assistance Benefits.
  • Respond to escalated employee questions/issues.
  • Coordinate COBRA administration for terminated employees within guidelines of their severance package.
  • Coordinate direct bill administration for employees on unpaid leave of absence with vendor.
  • Counsel employees on plan options, changes, and enrollment, particularly during open enrollment.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees to address escalated issues related to all leave programs to include, but not limited to, Short Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Family Medical Leaves and Paid Parental Leave.
