Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Benefits Associate at our Salina, KS location . The Benefits Associate is responsible for supporting the administration and delivery of the company's employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability coverage, wellness initiatives, and other employee benefits. This role ensures accurate benefit enrollments, eligibility tracking, and records management while maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and company regulations.
Responsibilities:
Assist with employee benefit questions Work with COBRA Administrator Process and assist with qualifying life events Benefit verifications and Medicare notices Assist with open enrollment Assist with the Wellness Program Benefit reconciliations Provide Benefit education to employees Payroll back-up Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company. Responsible for upholding Fair and Responsible Banking practices and Code of Ethics and Conduct guidelines. Understand and participate in the Bank's Community Reinvestment Act program. Perform other duties as assigned. Education /
Experience Preferred:
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Must possess proficiency with Word/Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively answer employee questions. Must possess strong spelling, grammar, basic math concepts, and attention to detail. Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities to manage data and deadlines. Proficiency with HR management systems preferred. Must be bondable. Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location. Working Conditions The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Employees may spend extended periods sitting or standing, using hands to operate computers or other equipment, and reaching for work-related tasks. Regular walking may be required, along with occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing. The role may involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
