$55,000-$65,000 annually
Job Type:
Full-time Position Overview We are seeking an organized, service-focused Benefits Specialist to support the administration and communication of employee benefits programs. This position assists employees with health insurance, retirement plans, disability benefits, leaves of absence, and other benefit offerings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates clearly, and enjoys helping employees understand and effectively use their benefits. This role will also support open enrollment, HRIS recordkeeping, regulatory compliance, claims resolution, and benefit-related reporting. Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Administration Process employee benefit enrollments, changes, and cancellations. Support health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans. Maintain accurate employee benefit records within the HRIS. Process benefit-related data and assist with ACA reporting. Prepare reports related to benefit enrollment, participation, usage, and costs. Employee Support Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, eligibility, coverage, and plan options. Clearly explain benefit programs and help employees make informed enrollment decisions. Assist employees with claims, coverage concerns, and benefit-related issues. Provide professional, confidential, and timely customer service. Open Enrollment Support all aspects of the annual open enrollment process. Answer employee questions and help employees navigate benefit selections. Assist with the development and distribution of enrollment materials, benefit summaries, and plan updates. Ensure enrollment forms and benefit changes are completed accurately and on time. Vendor and Compliance Support Communicate with insurance carriers, retirement plan administrators, and other benefit providers. Track and follow up on employee claims and service-related issues. Help ensure benefit programs comply with applicable requirements, including ACA, HIPAA, and ERISA . Prepare benefit documentation and reports for audits or regulatory purposes. Help organize employee benefit training sessions and informational workshops. Leave Administration Track and process benefits associated with employee leaves of absence. Provide administrative support for FMLA, short-term disability, and other leave programs . Maintain complete and accurate leave-related documentation. Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. One to three years of benefits administration or human resources experience preferred but not required. Familiarity with health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement benefits is helpful. Knowledge of ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FMLA requirements is preferred. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience working with an HRIS is preferred. Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 , depending on experience and qualifications. IND2
