Competitive, based on experience About SkySource Solutions SkySource Solutions is partnering with a leading employer in the agribusiness industry to hire a Benefits Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Inver Grove Heights, MN. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional with benefits administration experience who enjoys supporting employees and ensuring compliance with benefit programs. Position Summary The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration, compliance, and communication of employee benefit programs, including enrollment, eligibility, plan documentation, and employee support. This role works closely with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate administration of benefits while maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position operates under moderate supervision and supports a variety of benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), COBRA, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits. Key Responsibilities Administer employee benefit programs and assist with enrollment activities. Verify calculations of insurance premiums and administrative statements. Process vendor invoices and prepare benefit-related spreadsheets for accounting. Respond to employee benefit inquiries and escalate complex issues when necessary. Handle routine department mail, forms, and benefit documentation. Administer Qualified Medical Child Support Orders (QMCSO) and related benefit enrollments. Facilitate premium payments for employees on leaves of absence. Coordinate retiree medical and life insurance eligibility and enrollment. Calculate and communicate COBRA subsidy information for eligible employees. Manage FSA and COBRA error reports and support Adoption Assistance administration. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Support additional benefits and HR projects as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or
GED. 1-2
years of experience administering employee benefit programs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal communication and customer service abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Basic analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications Previous benefits administration experience. Experience with Leave of Absence (LOA) administration. Experience utilizing AI tools in a business environment. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with spreadsheets. Experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and benefits databases.
