This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time while administering employee benefits programs and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, benefits administration, employee record management, and confidentiality requirements. This role works closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and employees throughout the organization to ensure exceptional service and operational excellence. Essential Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly payroll for a multi-location workforce accurately and on schedule. Review and verify employee time records, pay adjustments, deductions, bonuses, commissions, and reimbursements. Maintain employee payroll records and payroll-related documentation. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Process new hires, terminations, status changes, and payroll updates in the HRIS/payroll system. Reconcile payroll reports and assist with payroll audits. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly. Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing. Benefits Administration Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans. Process benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations. Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and support. Coordinate open enrollment activities and employee communications. Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies. Maintain benefit records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Assist with employee leave administration and related documentation. HR Support Maintain confidential employee files and records. Assist with onboarding and orientation processes. Support HR initiatives, reporting, and compliance activities. Generate payroll and benefits reports for management as requested. Recommend process improvements to enhance payroll and benefits administration efficiency. Required Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience in a small to mid-sized organization. Experience administering employee benefits programs. Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage-and-hour requirements. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. Experience with HRIS and payroll systems such as ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, UKG, or similar platforms. FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or related payroll certification. Experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
