This role serves as a key resource to team members and managers, providing guidance on benefits, leave, compensation, and Workers' Compensation matters while coordinating enrollment, leave administration, claims, annual compensation processes, and related communications. The Specialist works closely with internal and external partners to ensure programs are administered accurately, efficiently, and confidentially. This position also supports compliance, audits, program implementation, policy development, and ongoing improvements to compensation and benefits practices while staying current on regulatory requirements and emerging industry practices. DEVELOPMENT. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize appropriate methods for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law. Some travel to a variety of locations in the Las Vegas area. Must be able to meet all requirements of OV vehicle policies and travel: Between worksite locations Within the community Administer and maintain the company's compensation, benefits, and leave programs in compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Maintain accurate compensation, benefits, and leave data in the HRIS system. Coordinate team member benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and other company-sponsored benefits. Serve as a primary point of contact for team members and managers regarding benefits, leave, and related inquiries. Manage benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, annual open enrollment, and related team member communications. Partner with fellow HR team members, Payroll, Finance, leadership, and external vendors to resolve compensation and benefits issues and ensure accurate and timely processing. Manage relationships with benefits brokers, consultants, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. Assist with the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing administration of benefits programs, compliance, policies, procedures, and systems. Administer FMLA and other applicable federal, state, and local leave programs, including eligibility, required notices, certifications, tracking, and return-to-work processes. Maintain confidential leave records and coordinate related payroll, benefit deductions, and leave-related pay adjustments. Support annual compensation processes, including salary reviews, merit increases, bonus calculations, promotions, and compensation adjustments. Manage Workers' Compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution, including claim documentation, carrier communication, and return-to-work coordination. Serve as a resource to team members and managers regarding Workers' Compensation processes, medical restrictions, transitional duty, and return-to-work requirements. Maintain accurate Workers' Compensation records and monitor claim status, lost time, restrictions, and return-to-work dates. Monitor compensation, benefits, leave, and Workers' Compensation practices for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; assist with required filings and audits. Prepare and maintain benefits, leave, and compliance documentation, policies, procedures, and team member resources. Stay current on regulatory changes, market trends, and emerging practices in compensation, benefits, and leave administration. Adhere to Opportunity Village's established policies and procedures. May be assigned other duties as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not directly supervise team members but oversees projects involving multiple stakeholders, each with individual deadlines and responsibilities. The position also provides direction, coordination, and support to volunteers within the department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or three (3) years of verifiable work experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in compensation and benefits.
Required:
One (1) year of experience working with an Applicant Tracking System.
Required:
Knowledge of State and Federal Laws governing Human Resources policies.
Required:
Current CPI certification within 30 days of employment
Required:
Current CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment
Preferred:
Previous experience managing leaves of absence and workers' compensation for an organization between 400-750 team members.
Preferred:
Previous experience overseeing a benefits plan for an organization between 400-750 team members.
Preferred:
Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
