SUMMARY OF JOB
The HR Payroll & Benefits Specialist supports day-to-day human resources operations with a strong focus on payroll processing and benefit administration. This role assists all employees with payroll, timekeeping, benefits, and HR administrative needs while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and employment laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll & Timekeeping Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees. Review and audit timecards, including overtime, PTO, holidays, and shift differentials. Ensure accuracy of payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions. Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and company policies. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner. HR Administration Serve as a point of contact for employees' questions related to payroll, benefits and policies. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HRIS data. Support onboarding by completing new-hire paperwork and system entries. Process employee status changes, transfers, and terminations. Prepare Human Resources and payroll reports as needed. Apply policies consistently and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Support audits and recordkeeping requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Benefits & Leave Support Resource for employees with benefit enrollment, payroll deductions, and questions. Support administration of leaves of absence, including FMLA, workers' compensation, and return-to-work tracking. Coordinate benefits and leave information with payroll to ensure accurate pay.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred. 2+ years of HR or payroll experience; manufacturing or hourly workforce experience preferred. Working knowledge of payroll systems, timekeeping, and wage and hour regulations. Working knowledge of supporting benefits administration preferred. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR/payroll systems (Paycor preferred).

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Although majority of time duties are performed in office environment, while performing some of the duties of this role, the employee may be exposed to dangerous chemicals, including exposure to fumes or airborne particles below OSHA permissible limits. Exposure to high heat and humid conditions while in plant areas. Employee may be exposed to loud sounds, below the OSHA permissible limits while in plant areas.
