Job Description
Job Functions:
Responsible for overseeing the collection and maintenance of the department's compensation market data. This includes organizing a consistent yearly approach that facilitates MHCPI participation in major key surveys that provide the foundation for physician compensation decisions. Analyze survey data as needed to determine market practices, pay levels and developing trends. Prepare market analysis of MHCPI compensation practices as compared to external market practices and compensation levels. Develop reports including findings, options and recommendations to address issues and concerns. Make recommendations for participation in surveys that provide opportunities to capture other data of importance to our pay strategies and practices. Collaborate with MHCPI Directors and executives to develop and/or design compensation plans or arrangements. Provide guidance and advice on an as needed basis to leadership where physician compensation issues are concerned. Consult on individual contracts upon renewal or upon hire/merger/acquisition. Assist in drafting and amending contract language around compensation agreements and employment agreements for MHCPI in conjunction with legal counsel. Consult on the annual development and renewal of compensation plans. Direct compensation plans for all new hire recruits in conjunction with Director of physician recruitment. Direct standard and consistent approach for employment and compensation agreements for all MHCPI. Analyzes market data and internal compensation levels and practices to determine market competitiveness, compensation program results as compared to established goals and market trends. Collaborate with finance, legal, quality and other departments to collect, integrate and disseminate various information relevant to physician compensation. Provides market data interpretation and develops recommendation on program changes and compensation design. Assist in the analysis and review of compensation programs. Consult with physician groups and business unit leadership to provide creative and effective recommendations to meet the business objectives while retaining a proper balance with the objectives of reward, motivation and retention of physicians. Bring design initiatives to closure by completing and communicating plan documentation. As directed and working in conjunction with the MHCPI leadership teams to assist physicians on compensation issues as they arise and where business unit leadership requests assistance. Work in a collaborative and constructive manner with MHCPI leadership. Serve as a facilitator on physician compensation committees with the objective of bringing physicians and management leadership to points of mutual understanding and acceptance of physician compensation plans. Assumes all other duties as assigned.Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, business administration or related healthcare discipline required. Master's degree in human resources, finance, business administration or related healthcare discipline preferred. 3-5 years of human resources, physician recruitment, finance, or physician practice administration experience. 3-5 years of compensation experience preferred. Pursuant of Master's degree can be considered in lieu and/or in conjunction with experience. Experience reviewing and interpreting contracts and compensation programs.Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to present/speak with finance, operations, legal, recruitment and physician leadership.Compensation Details:
