Job Description
Judgment and Escalation:
Ability to apply sound judgment to distinguish routine matters from those requiring escalation to management, HR, or legal resources.Organization and Prioritization:

Ability to explain complex or sensitive information clearly and professionally to employees, claimants, medical providers, vendors, and agency staff.Confidentiality and Discretion:
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information, medical documentation, claims matters, and stressful or emotionally difficult situations.Microsoft Office:
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.Growth Mindset:
Actively demonstrates a commitment to learning and growth.Service-Oriented:
Takes action to meet the needs of others. It is preferred that qualified candidates also demonstrate/have:Workers' Compensation and Maritime Claims:
Demonstrated knowledge of Workers' Compensation and/or Maritime Claims programs and processes.HR Policies and CBA Provisions:
Demonstrated skill in applying established HR policies, procedures, and CBA provisions to individual employee circumstances.Medical Documentation:
Ability to accurately read and interpret medical documents, including Health Insurance Claim Forms and after-visit Chart Notes.Claims Assessment:
Ability to assess employee claims and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy and determine appropriate next steps.Benefits and Policy Communication:
Proficiency in explaining complex employee benefits, policies, and procedures in clear and understandable terms.Benefits and Claims Administration:
Knowledge of employee benefits, workers' compensation, and employee injury and claims administration.Fiscal Processes and Systems:
Experience with fiscal processes and fiscal software programs, such as WSDOT's TRAINS 4.0 and PCMS.Medical Billing and Payment Processes:
Experience with medical billing documents, claim-payment procedures, third-party bill review, and payment reconciliation.Medical Provider and Insurance Coordination:
Experience working with or for medical providers, health insurance companies, and/or related businesses.Policy and Guidance Interpretation:
Proficiency in researching and interpreting policies, procedures, benefit provisions, and other applicable guidance to provide accurate information and resolve routine employee and claims-related questions. In addition to base salary, employees may be entitled to other forms of compensation depending on the type, duties, or location of the position.
