Part-time initially with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position. Two days per week in our Frisco office (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). About Intrust HR Intrust HR provides outsourced and fractional HR services to small and midsized organizations. We become an extension of our clients' teams by providing practical, responsive support in payroll, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and other HR functions. Our clients rely on us for technical expertise, personalized service, and trusted guidance. Position Summary We're looking for an experienced Payroll & Benefits Consultant who enjoys being hands-on while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. In this role, you'll manage payroll and benefits administration for multiple organizations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional client service. This position owns the payroll and benefits process from start to finish while partnering with an HR Coordinator who supports administrative payroll and benefits activities. You'll work directly with clients, payroll providers, benefit vendors, and government agencies to resolve issues and keep everything running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Process accurate and timely payrolls for multiple clients, including multi-state payrolls Audit payrolls, reconcile payroll results, and resolve payroll discrepancies Complete post-payroll activities, including reconciliations and submissions for 401(k), HSA, FSA, and other benefit deductions Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, COBRA, and open enrollment Open and close federal, state, and local payroll tax accounts as clients expand into or exit jurisdictions Research and resolve payroll tax notices by working directly with payroll providers and taxing authorities Monitor payroll tax filings and deposits to ensure timely and accurate compliance Support ACA reporting and other payroll and benefits compliance requirements Maintain payroll calendars and ensure all payroll, reporting, funding, and compliance deadlines are met Serve as the primary payroll and benefits contact for assigned clients, responding to questions and providing guidance Partner with the HR Coordinator to complete payroll and benefits activities while remaining actively involved in day-to-day processing Maintain accurate payroll, benefits, and compliance records within payroll and HRIS systems Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance the client experience Assist with payroll implementations, benefit renewals, and other client projects as needed Qualifications Seven or more years of payroll and benefits administration experience Extensive experience processing multi-state payroll Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, payroll compliance, and benefit administration Experience opening and maintaining payroll tax accounts and resolving payroll tax notices Experience with ACA reporting, COBRA administration, HSA, FSA, and retirement plan funding Experience completing payroll reconciliations and post-payroll reporting Strong understanding of payroll calendars, filing deadlines, and federal, state, and local compliance requirements Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines while providing outstanding customer service Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll/HRIS systems
