SUMMARY The Senior Benefits Manager oversees the organization's employee benefit programs, which include medical, dental and vision coverage, life, and disability and retirement plans. Ensures compliance with Federal and State requirements concerning HIPAA, COBRA, PPACA, ERISA, etc. Coordinates and supervises the work activities of the benefits team for all company banners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned or required: Plans and manages the implementation and administration of benefit programs including health, welfare, and retirement plans. Oversees enrollment, renewal, and delivery of benefits to the organization's employees. Manages and coordinates the annual open enrollment process for benefits. Interacts with consultants, brokers, administrators and/or insurers as needed to evaluate services, coverage, and options available to best meet the needs of the organization. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by reviewing existing and new legislation; obtaining qualified opinions; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Analyzes and troubleshoots systems for any vulnerabilities that can cause compliance issues. Manages annual audits of retirement plans. Works with appropriate parties to complete required filings in a timely manner. Plans, directs, and coordinates benefit communications, which includes notifications of any benefit plan changes. Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures. Reviews contracts, SPD's, and communication materials for accuracy and compliance. Monitors government regulations and market trends to ensure that their programs are current, competitive, and legal. Reconciles benefits accounts by approving billing statements. Oversees staff members who are responsible for updating enrollments and processing billings for benefit premiums. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of health care policies, HIPAA, COBRA, PPACA, ERISA and associated reporting requirements essential. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Requires handling of confidential information for employee's and the organization's private information on a regular basis. Analytical skills to resolve and troubleshoot system issues Bilingual English and Spanish is required.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $130,000.00 to $150,000.00. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications; including, experience and relevant skills.
