Manages the FMLA leave process to include oversight of third party vendor for FMLA compliance. Manages the health savings, health spending and dependent care spending account administration. Acts as management back up for 401(k), and pension benefit claims and administration. Processes weekly payroll feed to 401k vendor as needed. Works with finance department on benefit accruals, reconciliation of benefit accounts and other issues that may arise. Projects plan liabilities and keeps manager abreast of findings. Recommends additions and modifications to assigned benefit plans consistent with benefit trends and budget guidelines. Works with management to implement approved benefit cost controls and guidelines for employee benefit program cost sharing. Completes assigned state and federal compliance reports under ERISA or other regulations as required. Issues and updates assigned federally mandated summary plan descriptions and other required documentation to employees. Performs weekly file feeds to carriers as assigned and acts as back up to others in department to ensure all weekly feeds are completed. Reviews medical claims questioned by employees, insurance companies or other personnel. Resolves issues that may arise. Contacts vendors to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
