This is an onsite role , and candidates must be local to the Louisville area or able to work onsite consistently throughout the engagement. The Opportunity We are looking for a seasoned Total Rewards professional who can step in quickly and provide both strategic leadership and hands-on execution across compensation, benefits, and broader Total Rewards programs. This is not a purely advisory engagement. The right person will be comfortable operating at a senior leadership level while also rolling up their sleeves to keep priorities moving, solve problems, and provide stability during the interim period. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of compensation, benefits, and Total Rewards programs. Assess current programs, priorities, and areas of risk or opportunity and quickly establish a path forward. Oversee compensation programs including base pay structures, incentive programs, premium pay, market benchmarking, job architecture, and pay equity. Provide strategic oversight of health and welfare benefits, retirement programs, leave administration, and employee well-being initiatives. Partner with brokers, consultants, third-party administrators, and other vendors to evaluate performance, manage costs, and ensure strong service delivery. Support benefits strategy, cost containment, forecasting, and long-term sustainability. Ensure compensation and benefits programs remain compliant with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Partner closely with HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, IT, and organizational leadership. Provide guidance related to Total Rewards technology, HRIS, benefits administration platforms, compensation systems, analytics, and vendor integrations. Use data and analytics to evaluate program effectiveness, workforce trends, costs, and opportunities for improvement. Lead and support the existing Total Rewards team while providing continuity, accountability, and direction. Support senior leadership and appropriate governance committees with Total Rewards strategy, analysis, and recommendations. What We're Looking For 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant responsibility for compensation, benefits, and Total Rewards . Demonstrated experience leading Total Rewards strategy within a large, complex, multi-location organization . Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated, labor-intensive environment strongly preferred. Strong compensation and benefits expertise, including vendor management, financial analysis, compliance, and program governance. Experience partnering with senior organizational leadership. Strong financial and analytical acumen. Ability to quickly assess an environment, establish credibility, and move work forward. Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on execution. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required; master's degree preferred. Must be able to work onsite in the Louisville, KY area.
