Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Workers' Compensation Coordinator to join our orthopedic practice. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, employers, insurance carriers, and healthcare providers to ensure efficient management of workers' compensation cases from initial visit through claim resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate all aspects of workers' compensation cases, including intake, documentation, and follow-up Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment Communicate with employers, case managers, adjusters, and attorneys regarding patient status and care plans Schedule appointments and ensure timely completion of required forms and reports Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and claim records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system Assist providers with disability ratings, work status reports, and return-to-work documentation Monitor case progress and address any delays or issues proactively Ensure compliance with state regulations and practice policies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in workers' compensation, medical office administration, or orthopedic practice setting Strong knowledge of workers' compensation processes and medical terminology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
Experience in orthopedic or specialty medical practice Familiarity with billing and coding related to workers' compensation claims Knowledge of state-specific workers' compensation regulations
