Role Overview
VersAbility Resources is seeking an experienced and strategic Benefits Manager to lead the administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of our employee benefits programs.
As the organization's benefits subject matter expert, you'll oversee health and welfare plans, retirement, leave administration, Open Enrollment, vendor partnerships, HRIS benefits administration, compliance reporting, and employee education. You'll also play a critical role in supporting employees covered under government contracts, Service Contract Act (SCA) wage determinations, and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), ensuring benefits are administered accurately, compliantly, and with exceptional employee experience.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with deep expertise in benefits administration, regulatory compliance, HRIS systems, vendor management, and process improvement who enjoys solving complex challenges while building programs that support employees and organizational success.

What You'll Do
- Administer the organization's health, dental, vision, retirement, leave, disability, COBRA, and voluntary benefit programs.
- Lead Open Enrollment planning, employee communications, and benefits education.
- Serve as the primary liaison with benefit carriers, brokers, retirement plan administrators, consultants, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, Section 125, Medicare, and other applicable regulations.
- Manage benefits administration for government contracts, SCA Health & Welfare requirements, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Maintain HRIS benefits data integrity, payroll deductions, billing reconciliations, vendor files, and reporting.
- Coordinate benefits audits, regulatory reporting, compliance calendars, and corrective action plans.
- Develop employee communications, benefit resources, and educational materials.
- Supervise and develop Benefits team members while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Analyze benefits utilization, costs, and trends to support leadership decision-making.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, vendors, and executive leadership on strategic initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned. ________________________________________ Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible Human Resources or Benefits Administration experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years administering comprehensive employee benefit programs.
- Experience administering health and welfare plans, retirement plans, leave programs, Open Enrollment, HRIS systems, payroll coordination, and vendor management.
- Experience supporting benefits audits, compliance reporting, billing reconciliation, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced Microsoft Excel. Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, government contracting, or multi-site organizations.
- Experience supporting Service Contract Act (SCA), Health & Welfare (H&W), or Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) benefit administration.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, CEBS, CBP, or another HR or Benefits certification.
- Lead and shape the organization's employee benefits strategy and employee experience.
- Partner with executive leadership on initiatives that improve compliance, operational efficiency, and employee engagement.
- Expand your expertise in government contracting, SCA Health & Welfare administration, retirement plans, vendor management, and HR technology.
