This role ensures that RJW's pay and benefits programs are market competitive, internally equitable, compliant with US regulations, and aligned to the company's growth, performance, and talent strategies. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, documentation, and ongoing refinement of RJW's total rewards philosophy, including how we position pay and benefits in the market and within the company. Design, implement, and maintain job architecture, including job families, levels, and grading, in partnership with HR Business Partners and business leaders. Establish and manage the RJW grading structure and salary frameworks, ensuring consistent application across roles and functions. Own salary benchmarking and market pricing, including survey participation, benchmarking methodology, and the translation of market data into ranges and structures. Lead the annual US merit, promotion, and incentive review processes, including planning, budgeting, guidelines, tools, manager communications, and post-cycle analysis. Oversee the design and administration of US benefits programs in partnership with the People Operations Shared Services team, ensuring alignment with RJW's total rewards philosophy and employee experience goals. Provide expert consultation to HR and business leaders on complex compensation and rewards matters, including offers, retention packages, internal equity, and pay-for-performance decisions. Develop and maintain clear policies, standards, and governance for total rewards programs to support consistent decision making and appropriate controls. Monitor US regulatory and market trends in compensation and benefits and recommend changes to keep programs compliant, competitive, and aligned with business needs. Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and analytics related to rewards programs and ensure that spend is understood and well managed. Define and track key metrics to assess the effectiveness and health of total rewards programs and communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Success Profile / Performance Standards RJW total rewards programs are clearly defined, well governed, and understood by HR, leaders, and employees. Job architecture, grading, and ranges are consistently applied and support effective talent and organizational decisions. Annual merit and incentive processes run smoothly, on time, and within budget, with strong adoption by leaders and managers. Leaders view the Director, Total Rewards as a trusted advisor on complex pay and rewards topics. Data, insights, and recommendations from total rewards are regularly used to inform people and business decisions. Required Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards management, with a strong US focus and demonstrated ability to work in a coordinated, multi-US-state environment. Deep experience with compensation design, including job evaluation, salary benchmarking, pay structures, and annual merit and incentive cycles. Experience designing or managing job architecture and grading frameworks. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets, build models, and translate analysis into clear recommendations. Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional partners. Proven ability to manage multiple cyclical processes and projects with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or other operations-intensive, multi-site environments. Experience operating in a high-growth or change-intensive business. Familiarity with US pay transparency, pay equity, and other emerging rewards-related regulations.
Travel / Schedule
Requirements Hybrid role - with around 3 days per week in the office at Romeoville, IL Occasional travel within the United States may be required to support key meetings, implementations, and stakeholder engagement. Additional time may be required during peak compensation and benefits cycles.
