This is a direct-hire opportunity for candidates located in San Diego or Southern California. The position offers flexibility to work remotely, hybrid, or in-office; however, candidates must be available to attend client and prospect meetings as needed. In this role, you'll independently manage a book of employee benefits clients while partnering with Risk Advisors to support new business, renewals, ongoing account service, and client retention. You'll oversee the full client service cycle, including carrier marketing, proposals, open enrollment, policy administration, claims and billing inquiries, and ongoing client communication. Employee Benefits Client Manager Responsibilities Independently manage a book of employee benefits clients and their ongoing service needs Develop marketing plans with Risk Advisors, Senior Client Managers, and clients Prepare and submit new and renewal business to insurance carriers Manage the new business and renewal process from submission through implementation Work with carriers to obtain plan benefits, rates, and contract terms Prepare spreadsheets, presentations, and proposals for new and renewal business Negotiate coverage terms and pricing with insurance carriers Process Broker of Record (BOR) letters and establish new client accounts in EPIC Introduce new clients to the service team, gather outstanding information, and establish the ongoing service relationship Plan and conduct employee open enrollment meetings Submit applications, enrollment forms, and other required documentation to carriers Audit enrollments following plan effective dates and coordinate termination of previous coverage Process new hire enrollments, coverage changes, and terminations Maintain accurate policy and client information within agency management systems Manage claim inquiries, billing discrepancies, delinquent premiums, and COBRA administration questions Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the year Coordinate with Risk Advisors regarding urgent or complex client service matters Maintain strong working relationships with clients and insurance carriers Qualifications Bachelor's degree Active California Life & Health Insurance License Minimum of 5 years of Employee Benefits experience Experience independently managing a book of employee benefits clients Experience managing new business and renewal processes Experience marketing accounts and working directly with insurance carriers Experience preparing employee benefits proposals, spreadsheets, and presentations Experience with open enrollment and employee benefits administration Experience handling claims inquiries, billing issues, enrollment changes, and COBRA-related service Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications Experience working within an insurance agency or brokerage environment Experience with EPIC or a similar agency management system Experience managing group benefits accounts throughout the full client lifecycle Work Arrangement Direct-hire opportunity Candidates must be located in San Diego or Southern California Remote, hybrid, or in-office work options available Attendance at client and prospect meetings is required as needed About Insurance Placement Solutions Insurance Placement Solutions is a staffing and recruiting firm specializing in the insurance industry.
