  • Identify potential double-counting, unsupported assumptions, dependencies, or other risks that could overstate expected benefits.
  • Partner with Finance, business owners, and project teams to establish a consistent methodology for calculating ROI and expected benefits.
  • Ensure proposed benefits can be practically measured following implementation before they are incorporated into an approved business case.
  • Maintain traceability between approved investments, expected outcomes, financial commitments, and measurable business results. KPI Definition & Measurement
  • Identify the business and operational KPIs expected to be impacted by proposed initiatives.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of how each KPI is calculated, including underlying data sources, formulas, reporting cadence, ownership, and potential limitations.

  • Create clear executive-level reporting showing investment, committed benefits, realized benefits, outstanding benefits, and forecasted benefit realization.
  • Provide portfolio-level visibility into whether strategic investments are producing the business outcomes originally used to justify funding.
  • Identify systemic trends across the portfolio, including recurring causes of missed ROI or inaccurate business case assumptions.
