This is a relationship-driven role. The Account Manager is responsible for managing and retaining a book of employee benefits clients, while delivering strategic guidance and high-quality service. This role serves as a primary point of contact for clients and works closely with internal team members and insurance carrier partners. You'll lead client strategy, guide benefit decisions, and help organizations navigate the ever-changing world of employee benefits. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both people and problem-solving — and wants to grow their career in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.Key Responsibilities:
Client Management & Strategy Manage overall retention and growth of assigned client accounts Lead annual renewal strategy, planning, and implementation Identify opportunities to enhance client benefit programs Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, HR leaders, and executives Client & Carrier Support Respond to client and employee inquiries related to enrollment, billing, and claims Liaise with insurance carriers to resolve issues Troubleshoot and proactively address potential challenges Meetings & Communication Conduct open enrollment meetings (virtual and onsite) Present renewal and compliance updates to clients Clearly communicate both internally, and eternally, to ensure seamless service Team Collaboration & Development Work collaboratively with consultants and service team members Stay current on industry trends, legislation, and compliance Participate in ongoing professional development opportunitiesMinimum Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in employee benefits or health insurance account management Current Wisconsin Life & Health License Working knowledge of health insurance plans and benefit structures Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Valid driver's license and ability to travel for client meetingsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with online benefits administration systems Industry designations Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in employee benefitsBenefits:
